European research space

A scientific priority

IFSTTAR exerts its influence in France by linking up with the Competitiveness Clusters (MOVEO, EMC2, ID4CAR…), and in Europe by its membership of the network of European National Transport Contact Points (via the ETNA+ then the ETNA 2020 projects), its presence in the CLORA in Brussels, and participation in several European associations that focus in the fields of transport and urban studies.

We encourage our researchers to participate in Horizon 2020 projects, the COST programmes and take advantage of other European financing mechanisms, particularly those intended for young researchers.

There are several possible forms of assistance, ranging from training, tutoring, rereading of documents by external experts, researcher mobility, apart from the network of partners that has been created as a result of projects carried out under previous FPRDs.

IFSTTAR in Horizon 2020

The projects proposed by IFSTTAR are mainly under Pillar 3 ‘Societal Challenges’, but the Institute also apply to calls under Pillars 1 and 2, respectively ‘Excellent Science” and ‘Industrial Leadership’. IFSTTAR was a coordinator or partner in 25 successful projects in the 2014-2016 period, out of a total of 108 submitted proposals.

IFSTTAR coordinates several projects:

7th Framework Programme for Research and Technological Development (FP7)

IFSTTAR participated in 93 projects in this programme, more than half of which were on the topic of “Transport”.
