General information

The website www.ifsttar.fr is published by the Institut français des sciences et technologies des transports, de l'aménagement et des réseaux (French Institute of Science and Technology for Transport, Development and Networks), Cité Descartes - Boulevard Newton F-77 Champs-sur-Marne.

Use of the website

The site is for personal use only.

Access to the website may be interrupted at any time, without warning, in particular in the case of force majeure, maintenance or if IFSTTAR decides to suspend or withdraw this service. The obligation to provide the service is limited therefore to a best efforts obligation.

Site content

To the best of its abilities IFSTTAR will attempt to ensure that the information provided is accurate and up to date at the time it is put on line on the site. However, IFSTTAR in no way guarantees the accuracy, precision or completeness of the information on the site. The information on the site is not legally binding and may be changed at any time.  
The site is governed by French law. When visiting the site or using some or all of its functionalities, foreign users accept the application of French law without reservation.

IFSTTAR may in no case be held responsible for the content and information on its website, or for any consequences that may ensue from their use or interpretation.

Intellectual property

The content and text, including press releases, videos, images and animations which appear on or are available on the website are protected by intellectual property legislation and are the exclusive property of IFSTTAR. As such, you undertake not to copy, translate, reproduce, offer for sale, make use of and disseminate in whole or in part the content of the site which is protected under intellectual property legislation without the prior written consent of IFSTTAR.

Except in specific cases, the trademarks and logos that appear on the website are the property of IFSTTAR. Internet users will refrain from using them without prior written consent. 
However, IFSTTAR grants internet users the right to make one sole copy of part or all of the website to save or to print on paper. This right is granted for use that is strictly personal, private and non-collective.

Violation of any of these intellectual property rights constitutes an infringement of copyright punishable by two years of imprisonment and a fine of €150,000.

Private life

IFSTTAR undertakes not to divulge to a third party any information provided it by the internet user. Such information is confidential and will only be used for administrative purposes.
The website complies with the regulations relating to Information Technology, Files and Civil Liberties as laid down by Law No.78-17 of 6 January 1978 (amended).


The website may contain links to the sites of partners or third parties. As there is no way IFSTTAR can monitor these sites, it is unable to guarantee that these sites comply with the applicable laws and regulations.

The IFSTTAR website authorises the creation of hypertext links to its website on the following conditions:

  • “deep linking” techniques must not be used: IFSTTAR’s web pages must not be embedded in the pages of another website but accessed by opening a separate window;
