Evaluations of staff

Researchers and equivalent researchers, experts

The evaluation of researchers of the Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Energy (MEDDE)

The evaluation of researchers of the MEDDE, senior researchers and research fellows, is conducted by the Research evaluation commission (Commission d'évaluation des chercheurs, Comeval), an administrative body made up of members external to the institute and chosen by the MEDDE,  and elected staff representatives.

This statutory evaluation is conducted upon the basis of an activity report produced by each researcher, every two years, an intensive evaluation alternating with a lighter one.

The evaluation of staff other than researchers but who conduct research works

The Ifsttar staff outside the status of researcher but  who conducts research works  is encouraged to be evaluated by a specific committee, named Cesaar (Committee of scientific evaluation of civil servants conducting research works within the Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Energy).

This voluntary scientific evaluation is complementary to the statutory evaluation specific to this category of staff. It is carried out every four years and is based on an activity report. An opinion is issued by the committee who may award the status of researcher, experienced researcher or senior researcher.

The qualification of staff conducting expert activities

The Ifsttar staff who conducts expert activities is encouraged to be evaluated by one of the specific evaluation committees of scientific and technical fields of the MEDDE.

This voluntary scientific evaluation is complementary to the statutory evaluation specific to this category of staff. It is carried out every four years, and is based on an activity report. An opinion is issued by the committee who may award the status of specialist, expert or international expert.
